Fam! It’s been a while but we are back just in time for fall! It’s a glorious time of year, between the outdoor activities, the beautiful fall colors, pumpkin spice lattes and heavier fabrics. And for fans of wineries and beer gardens, it’s the perfect climate for day drinking.
With layering season upon us, it’s time to assess your fall wardrobe and make sure you are covered for the warm afternoons and chilly evenings. My favorite layers this season are easily denim jackets but there are many options to choose from when it comes to layering up. In addition to denim, our list also includes wool, corduroy, cotton, suede and leather. We even included a blazer jacket in case you find yourself inclined to dress up! Sadly, we did not find any patterned or printed jackets that were up to par this season but the solid jacket options below offer plenty of room for print and pattern play with your shirts underneath.
Looking for tips on how to rock any of the jackets below? The beauty of fall layering is it’s all about mixing and matching. Pair just about any of the jackets below with a denim button down, flannel shirt, white Henley, or a navy or grey striped tee. Or, depending on the jacket color, match with any solid fall-colored t-shirt such as burgundy, tan or khaki green.
The bright side here is that fall fashion is fairly consistent so your jackets will remain in rotation year after year. Additionally, denim in particular is a very resilient fabric and you can often find it at a good price.
